Tell-tale signs it's time to look for a new job

Being in a job that no longer fulfilled you is like staying in a bad relationship, hoping things will get better for way too long.

No one’s job is perfect but how do we know if we are just experiencing a bad time in our jobs OR when it is truly time to move on?

Although there are other signs, here are some biggies!

1. Your mental health is being sacrificed. Are you having panic attacks related to your job? Are you depressed because of your job? Are you feeling more agitated at work but when you leave for the day, it feels like a huge weight off your shoulders? If you identify with any of these, it may be time to focus on transitioning to a new job. Nothing is worth sacrificing your mental health. NOTHING!

2. You want and are ready for growth, whether that is a promotion (that you have earned) or new role within the company but there is no clear path or clear timeline for when this will happen. If this is the case, it may be best to take your experience and accomplishments from the job you are in now and apply them to a new company.

3. You feel like you are compromising yourself in the role. What you are doing just does not align to your goals, passion and purpose. And as a result, you feel like you are being inauthentic and not true to yourself. There is a job and company out there that is better aligned to the work you want to do and the impact you would like to make on others. You just have to be willing to admit what you TRULY want and go after it!
