Biggest mistakes I made in my early days of building a business

One of the things I love most about my work is helping people start or improve their business is helping them to avoid mistakes I made in my early days of entrepreneurship. Learning from these mistakes allowed me to develop 3 profitable business over the past few years...

Mistake #1: Developing my business without taking time to do the appropriate market research. Just because I thought something would work doesn’t mean that it would. It is important to take time to research competitors, poll/survey clients, and understand market trends before building out your offerings.

Mistake #2: Being afraid to invest in myself and business. I used to want to do everything myself because I thought I would be saving money and somehow gaining. In fact, I lost time, money and truthfully my mental health suffered. When I realized this, I was then willing to invest in professionals to take my business to the next level. I have invested in coaching, networking organizations, videographers, bookkeepers, printed material, merchandise etc. Think about it, if you are not willing to invest in your business or yourself even, how can you expect others to?

Mistake #3: Worrying about what family/friends would think. This is a big one as this will directly affect how you show up on and offline and question your worth and potential. The sad truth is not everyone in our lives will support us in the way we though they would. So the question is, what you are you going to do about it? Are you really going to let that stop you and not go after the life/business you want? My answer over time, became NO.

If you are struggling with at least one of the above, the good news is that I can help get you unstuck!
